A Thousand Memories

Today, I was waiting for the bus at Bellevue College, when I saw a ghost from my past- a distant yet familiar face. Flooding back through the years, were a thousand memories. Days gone bye of mirth and merriment. Days gone by of joy, and the bitter taste one gets looking to the past, choking me up.

I walked up to the familiar face and said "Excuse me, do you have the time?" Who asks that when they have a pocket watch that can tell you time down to the second, and tell you if it's daytime or nighttime? The face said it was nearly Three. I said thank you and walked away. A few minuets later, I saw the face get into a charcoal grey Volkswagen Jetta. I remember the days of the old, square green one ages ago. Time and fortune have been good to her family.

My bus soon came, and I was on my way home. I'm pained by the experience, but a wise groundskeeper said to me "At least you said something." To say ghosts don't exist, is a broad and misleading statement. However, one is lead to believe that no matter how hard you try, pray, or wish, you can never (quite) go home again.

A Rod Stewart song, just for kicks!
